On July 8, 2014, Israel launched Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza strip. The war lasted 50 days, left 2,500 dead, thousands injured and hundreds of thousands homeless. Weeks of bombing left a field of ruins. Buildings that weren’t reduced to dust were left on the verge of collapse. Today, inside Gaza, people are still scrabbling to survive.
